At MECEC, play is the approach we take to learning and growing. It can be structured and focused, such as a group activity with a purpose in mind; or it can be free and solitary with open-ended possibilities. Whatever form is taken, play is always a hands-on discovery approach to learning and growing. Children learn best while playing and play while learning.
Through play, children learn about themselves and the world around them. It provides children with the opportunities to try on different roles, to interact and cooperate with others, to experience feelings, to develop their imaginations, to reason and make choices, to solve problems, to exercise all those growing muscles and to simply delight in the wonders of their surroundings. Play is hard work!

MECEC's summer camp activities foster your child’s creativity and build on skills he or she already knows. We recognize the need for young children to use their bodies as they explore new skills. Camp will combine fun and exciting activities with weekly themes. Campers will enjoy water-based activities, nature walks, science, literacy and art. Campers will bring a towel, bathing suit, snack and lunch.
The application for 2021 Summer Camp will be available online the last week of March 2021. If you would like to be notified or learn more about camp please email MECEC's Executive Director.
